Are you prepared for the biggest season of Stranger Things yet?
Shawn Levy is promising a look at the Upside Down and Hawkins that’s on par with some of the biggest blockbusters being released. Speaking to Total Film, Levy offers the first real details about the final season.
While the series is still a ways away, the executive producer & director dove into the hotly-anticipated final season. Levy gave just a tiny sample of what he calls the biggest season of Stranger Things yet.
“There’s no way to be contiguous with Season 4 and not, frankly, expand scale and depth,” Levy tells the publication. “It’s major, major, cinematic storytelling that happens to be called a TV series. Stranger Things 5 is as big as any of the biggest movies that we see.”
Shawn Levy is currently promoting All the Light We Cannot See, a new Netflix miniseries based on the World War II-set novel of the same name. The series is set for release on November 2nd.
As for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, Levy’s comments color in what little we know about the upcoming Netflix event. Finn Wolfhard says the last season “answers an insane amount of questions,” while Noah Schnapp teased that Will’s story will take center stage once again.
Before the Hollywood strikes, director Dan Trachtenberg was attached as a director, while 80s icon Linda Hamilton was also announced as joining the series.
