“I don’t believe in destiny, but if destiny exists, then it is heading for Donna Noble,” David Tennant’s Doctor declares in the official trailer for the upcoming Doctor Who 60th anniversary.
In an explosive first look at the three upcoming specials, fans were treated to not only Tennant returning to the franchise but also got a bit more of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. The pair will reunite for the specials, but things are still in the air as the trailer does not reveal everything.
The trailer does showcase the latest baddie; Neil Patrick-Harris will play The Toymaker, an all-powerful enemy. The character was last seen in The Celestial Toymaker in 1966, portrayed by Michael Gough. We also get a bit of Jemma Redgrave, returning to her role as Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, UNIT’s leader.
About the trailer and all the upcoming Who-related madness, showrunner Russell T Davies said the tale “is just the start, as the fever starts to burn. We’re heading for a November full of Doctor Who surprises for fans and new viewers alike. Stay alert!”
