Having missed out on playing the Man of Steel in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, Nicholas Hoult can exact revenge in the best way possible having been casting in the role of the villainous Lex Luthor.
Earlier this week James Gunn had commented on an Instagram post that they were running out of characters to cast in the superhero blockbuster, but that announcements were imminent, and this one is worthy of splashing all over the front page of The Daily Planet.
According to Deadline several sources have told them that the X-Men and Mad Max: Fury Road actor will star alongside Pearl’s David Corenswet in the title role, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.
Hoult joins an illustrious list of actors to have portrayed the iconic villain on the big-screen that includes Gene Hackman, Kevin Spacey and Jesse Eisenberg.
Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Gunn, who is directing from his own screenplay, is yet to comment on the casting.
