Here’s some news to get cinema aficionados excited; Paul Thomas Anderson has lined up Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Regina Hall to star in his as-yet-untitled movie for Warner Bros.
According to Deadline the There Will be Blood director will begin production on January 21 in California, and will work from his own script, as well as producing the film with Sara Murphy and Adam Somner.
The film remains untitled and the studio haven’t released a logline, but the report does state that it takes place in a contemporary setting, and is the most commercial film Paul Thomas Anderson has attempted, with a budget to match.
Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn and Regina Hall will be the three main leads, but the movie will have a large ensemble cast that will be filled in the coming weeks.
PTA’s last film was 2021’s Licorice Pizza, which grossed $33 million at the global box-office and earned three Oscar noms for Best Picture, Best Screenplay and Best Director.
