Solo developer Galactic Crows has released their horror puzzler Psychopath Massacre on Steam Early Access. This horrifying puzzler will challenge players to escape a serial killer’s lair and the experience is only expected to get more intense throughout the game’s time in early access thanks to feedback from gamers.
In Psychopath Massacre, players will awake in the decaying Romanian house of George Dinescu, a serial killer that has terrorised the region for more than a decade. The only item that players have at their disposal is a VHS camera and their wits, which they must use to document the ordeal and make their way through the deteriorating ruins. Players will need to escape the house within five in-game hours by solving the deviously designed puzzles and deadly traps that Dinescu has set, but they must also avoid Dinescu himself and his excellent sense of hearing.
Psychopath Massacre features:
- No fighting, no killing, the player’s only chance of survival is escape or hide.
- Retro VHS quality graphics set the mood and provide a gritty and scary immersive atmosphere.
- Stealthy gameplay with parkour areas and safe hide zones.
- Dinescu is unpredictable and there is no hint at when or where he will appear.
- Speech recognition allows players the chance to distract Dinescu or trigger some game events.
- Completing the game on certain difficulties can earn coins that can be used in an in-game shop. Here customisations for the game can be purchased.
Throughout the early access phase of the game, Galactic Crows has stated they will be including features such as enhanced enemy AI, additional rooms and puzzles, more difficulty levels and an expanded in-game shop.
Psychopath Massacre is in early access on Steam now.
