Barbarian director Zach Cregger is assembling quite the cast for his sophomore solo feature Weapons, with the news that Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) is set to join Julia Garner and Josh Brolin in the ambitious horror flick.
According to Deadline Erenreich will follow up his critically acclaimed turn in Fair Play to headline the New Line horror, which is being described as an “interrelated, multistory horror epic.”
Not a lot more is known about the film beyond the fact that Cregger is aiming to make “a horror in the vein of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia“, but there there is a lot of hype surrounding the project thanks to the performance of Barbarian, which turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of 2022 (read our ★★★★ review here), grossing $40 million at the U.S. box-office, off a budget of $4.5 million.
