It looks like we can add Lethal Weapon to the ever-growing list of movies getting the small screen treatment, with Fox giving a pilot order to Warner Bros. for a TV adaptation of the hit buddy cop franchise.
The pilot will see Damon Wayans (My Wife and Kids) taking on the role of Roger Murtaugh, played by Danny Glover in the four feature films. As yet, there’s no word on who will be taking over the part of Martin Riggs from Mel Gibson.
Charlie’s Angels helmer McG is set to direct the pilot from a script by Matt Miller (Forever); the plot will see Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Riggs moving to Los Angeles to start anew after the death of his wife and child, where he’s partnered with Murtaugh, who having recently suffered a “minor” heart attack, must avoid stress in his life.
