Frostline expansion coming to DayZ

May 10, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Bohemia Interactive has announced the development of the second ever expansion for their open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO DayZ. The new DayZ Frostline expansion will provide a huge, chilly area to explore filled with adventure and danger and is scheduled to release this autumn.  Watch the new teaser trailer below…

DayZ Frostline takes players to the chilling Sakhal archipelago, an 80km² area filled with the harsh beauty of snow blanketed forests and frozen lakes, as well as innovative structures and landmarks.  Those who explore this region will find beauty, adventure and danger.

As well as beautiful scenery, the new expansion will also introduce new survival dynamics that will challenge survivors to manage resources and warmth in this cold landscape. There will also be new wildlife that have adapted to the cold that can be encountered.

Features of DayZ Frostline will include:

  • An untouched winter landscape to discover and explore.
  • Harsher survival, where players will need to manage warmth and hunt for food.
  • Environmental hazards associated with living near volcanic areas.
  • New wildlife to encounter and hunt…or possibly be hunted by.
  • Try out the new fishing mechanic and overcome new diseases.
  • Winter-themed cosmetics to try out.

DayZ Frostline is set to arrive this autumn and is available to add to your Steam wishlist now.
