The next Jurassic World film from director Gareth Edwards has added another to its cast. Rupert Friend is the latest to join the next installment in the long-running franchise.
Friend most recently starred in Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City and is known for his roles in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Homeland, Anatomy of a Scandal and Hitman: Agent 47.
Friend will star alongside Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jonathan Bailey (Bridgerton) and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Lincoln Lawyer).
The new Jurassic World will begin a new set of films that will not include Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard from the previous films, nor will it feature Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern, the legacy characters from the original Jurassic Park trilogy who returned to the franchise for Jurassic World: Dominion.
Gareth Edwards will direct from a script written by David Koepp with Frank Marshall and Patricia Crowley producing and Jurassic Park director Steven Spielberg executive producing. Jurassic World is set for release on July 2nd, 2025.
