Indie developer Mango Factory has released a new trailer for their upcoming horror card battler Kumitantei: Old School Slaughter. This new trailer provides a glimpse at the gameplay and confirms that the game’s kickstarter campaign will begin on 24th September, along with a demo available at the same time.
Kumitantei: Old School Slaughter is an homage to the retro anime and pop culture stylings of 1980’s Japan and blends together hand drawn visuals inspired by Rumiko Takahashi with a twisted horror narrative involving the fate of a group of high school students.
Players will begin their adventure as sheepish barista Himari Sanada who is trapped alongside sixteen high school students within an apocalyptic bunker. With a sadistic overseer forcing the students to participate in a deadly psychological experiment, it is up to players to investigate these murders, earn the trust of the other captives and uncover the truth of this macabre experiment.
As players progress through the main story they will fight the other students through card battle combat, and it is during these battles where it will pay off to gain the trust of fellow classmates. During battles, players will deal attacks with Debate cards and grow influence through the weaknesses displayed in the opponents argument. Use proper evidence and additional cards to use The Final Word and silence them.
Featuring:
- Complex murder cases to investigate.
