The Corsair Code has found a home with Apple Original Films landing the rights to the project.
For those unfamiliar, the film is based on a short story by Jonathan Tropper and is set to star Chris Hemsworth. In the report from Deadline, it was noted that Tropper brought the project to Hemsworth and his producing partner, Ben Grayson.
Tropper will write the screenplay and produce it through Tropper Ink. Hemsworth and Grayson will produce through their Wild State, while Apple houses the film as its studio.
The Corsair Code is described as “a high-octane, sci-fi mystery adventure.” Further details have yet to be revealed. The project is currently looking for a director.
Keep Jonathan Tropper on your ‘ones to watch’ list if this sounds interesting. The writer is set to pen the Star Wars film that Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Shawn Levy will direct. His other credits include being the executive producer and showrunner for the second and third seasons of Apple TV+’s See, which starred Jason Momoa. Tropper was also a co-creator and EP of Banshee, which launched Antony Starr’s career.
As for Hemsworth, he’ll soon star in Transformers One, where the actor is set to voice the iconic role of Optimus Prime. Watch the new San Diego Comic-Con trailer here, and stay tuned to Flickering Myth for more news on The Corsair Code.
