Netflix sets animated Twilight spin-off series Midnight Sun

September 7, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Are we ready for Twilight Mania to return?

With a possible television reboot in the works, it seems like the lore will continue to expand with a look at Edward Cullen’s side of things. Reports say a new animated version of Midnight Sun will head to Netflix soon.

Sinead Daly will also executive produce and write the series. As for who will star, the report does not include any names of talent involved.

Midnight Sun, released in 2020, follows the story of Stephanie Meyer’s first Twilight but is told from Edward’s perspective. The release came after a 12-year hold after an early draft was leaked online. In its first sale week, Midnight Sun sold more than 1 million copies.

If you lived under a rock, The Twilight series started as a hit book series before spawning a multi-billion film franchise starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Meyer will serve as executive producer of Midnight Sun with her Fickle Fish Films partner Meghan Hibbett, alongside Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen for Temple Hill Entertainment and Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey for Picturestart.

Stay tuned for more details regarding the series.
