SuperTed could return to TV screens this year

February 22, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It looks like our favourite 80s teddy bear superhero could be set for a return to the small screen, as SuperTed creator Mike Young has revealed that he expects the revived animated series to go into production before the end of the year.

Young first announced his plans for a new SuperTed series back in 2014, where he suggested that it would require a major update for modern audiences: “In SuperTed, we had a gun-slinging cowboy, a flamboyantly gay skeleton and a fat guy who had jokes made about his weight and all these things you just wouldn’t do today. But you can still write the show in a funny, entertaining way.”

The original SuperTed series ran from 1983 to 1986 on the BBC.
