Survival horror adventure Code Alkonost gets trailer and January release

January 15, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Alkonost Team has announced that their mythologically inspired survival horror Code Alkonost will be launching on Steam on 21st January.  A new trailer celebrating the upcoming launch can be seen below and showcases the haunting world inspired by Slavic mythology.

Code Alkonost welcomes players to a dark fantasy world, one where Slavic myths and legends come to life and the secrets to an ancient evil need to be unravelled.  Players can expect fear and tension as they traverse a world filled with sinister creatures, legendary monsters and spirits wanting to possess their souls (not literally).

Players will follow twin sisters Vera and Milena as they set out to pay respects to the Slavic god Perun by leaving gifts at his idol.  Believing this will bring them peace and health in Jawia world, Vera begins to lay out the gifts but Milena decides to hide from Vera by entering the Forbidden, where it is believed demons dwell.  When Vera hears her sister’s scream she enters the Forbidden Forest, but the way out has closed and the Sun has set.  Can players find Milena and escape the forest to safety?

Featuring:

  • Dynamic and immersive environments that draw the player into Vera’s world.
  • A world inspired by Slavic mythology and dark fantasy literature.
  • Uncover and master Vera’s unique abilities and discover her purpose in life.
  • Solve puzzles and interact with other characters.
  • A soundtrack consisting of ethnic and traditional folklore music.  Music is accelerated when danger approaches as a warning to players.

Code Alkonost will arrive on Steam for PC on 21st January.
