The Fall Guy director David Leitch is in talks to helm the fourth film in the Ocean’s franchise, with Brad Pitt and George Clooney set to return.
Per The Insneider, George Clooney’s Smokehouse production company will be behind the film, which will be the first of the main franchise not to be directed by Steven Soderbergh. Clooney will return as Danny Ocean, while Pitt is set to reunite with Leitch following 2022’s action vehicle Bullet Train.
According to the report Ocean’s 14 will be separate from any other planned spin-offs in development at Warner Bros, with the Margot Robbie-produced Ocean’s 11 prequel, which is set to star Ryan Gosling and take place in 1960’s Europe, still going ahead.
The original Ocean’s 11 was released in 1960 and starred Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., and Dean Martin, before Steven Soderbergh’s glossy 2001 remake, which featured Clooney and Pitt alongside Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Casey Affleck, Julia Roberts and a roll-call of big names stars. The trilogy grossed $1.1 billion at the box-office, with an all-female spin-off, Ocean’s 8, released in 2018 to the tune of $297 million in receipts.
