As production on Dexter: Resurrection continues, Showtime has announced How I Met Your Mother‘s Neil Patrick Harris is the latest to join the cast of the new Dexter season.
Dexter: Resurrection will pick up from the conclusion of New Blood, where we saw Dexter shot by his son Harrison in a bid to escape the law and atone for his sins. However, as the opening scene of Dexter: Original Sin showed us before flashing back to Dexter’s youth, he didn’t immediately die and was being transported to a hospital to save his life.
Harris will star in a guest role as a character known only as Lowell. He joins fellow newcomers Peter Dinklage as a billionaire with a dark secret, Uma Thurman as his head of security and Krysten Ritter as a serial killer.
Dexter: Resurrection is created, showrun and executive produced by original Dexter creator Clyde Phillips with Hall also serving as an executive producer. It is currently filming in New York City with an expected summer premiere on Showtime and Paramount+.
Alongside Michael C. Hall, returning Dexter stars are David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan and James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan. New additions also include Uma Thurman as Charley, Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, Krysten Ritter as Mia Lapierre, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.
