Robert Eggers, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed horror film The Witch, is set to bring the story of Rasputin to the small screen, signing on to write and direct a miniseries based upon the life of the Russian mystic.
Deadline is reporting that the series will consist of six to eight episodes and “will cover Rasputin’s origins in Siberia to his rise to power and bloody death in St. Petersburg.”
In addition to the Rasputin project, Eggers is also attached to a remake of the 1922 horror classic Nosferatu for Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8, as well as medieval film The Knight.
