Back in December it was announced that Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek will be reprising their roles as Malcolm, Hal and Lois for a four-episode revival of the beloved early 2000s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, and now we know who’ll be joining them in the cast.
As revealed by Variety, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield will be returning as Malcolm’s brothers Francis and Reese, although Dewey actor Erik Per Sullivan won’t be back for the revival, having retired from the industry following the show’s conclusion.
Instead, the role of Dewey will be portrayed by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark (The Expanse), who will also be joined in the cast by Anthony Timpano as Malcolm’s youngest brother Jamie, Vaughn Murrae (The Way Home) as Malcolm’s youngest sibling Kelly, and Keeley Karsten (The Fabelmans) as Malcolm’s daughter Leah. They join the previously cast Kiana Madeira (Fear Street) as Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan.
As per the official logline, the limited series revival sees “Malcolm and his daughter drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.” Filming is set to get underway in the coming weeks in Vancouver.
