The Now You See Me franchise had a trick up its sleeve at today’s Lionsgate CinemaCon panel by not only revealing that the upcoming sequel would be called Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, but they added a flourish by announcing that Now You See Me 4 is also in the works.
Lionsgate showed their hand by unveiling the new title for the November 14th threequel, while also confirming that Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Uncharted) would return for another round of smoke-and-mirrors with the fourth film.
The films focus on a team of illusionists called The Four Horsemen, who use their showmanship and stagecraft in order to pull off unbelievable and ingeniously executed heists. The first two films had an impressive ensemble made up of Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, Lizzy Caplan, and Morgan Freeman, while the third film recruits some magician’s assistants in the shape of Ariana Greenblatt (Borderlands), Justice Smith (I Saw the TV Glow), and Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl).
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will be hoping to add to the $687 million that the franchise has conjured up from the first two installments.
