We’ll see how much life might still be unfair for Malcolm as Frankie Muniz has shared the first set photo from the Malcolm in the Middle revival showing his reunion with his onscreen parents Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek.
Muniz played Malcolm throughout the original seven-season run of Malcolm in the Middle, following his young gifted genius in a very dysfunctional family where chaos thrived. Cranston played Malcolm’s goofy father Hal while Kaczmarek was his very strict mother Lois.
Muniz shared a picture of the trio together on Instagram, the first photo of the revival which will see Malcolm reunite with his family for Hal and Lois’ 40th wedding anniversary. He wrote “Always good to have Mom and Dad around!!” alongside the photo.
Also returning from the original series are Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield as Malcolm’s older brothers Francis and Reese with newcomers Caleb Ellsworth-Clark taking over the role of Dewey, Malcom’s younger brother, and Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter.
Malcolm in the Middle will run for four episodes with Ken Kwapis directing them all. Original series creator Linwood Boomer returns as writer and executive producer with Cranston, Kwapis, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann executive producing.
The Malcolm in the Middle revival will feature Malcolm (Muniz) and his daughter (Keeley Karsten) as they are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.
Malcolm in the Middle features original stars Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston, Jane Kaczmarek, Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark, Keeley Karsten, Kiana Madeira, Anthony Timpano and Vaughn Murrae also starring.
