Geena Davis joins Fox’s Exorcist TV pilot

March 9, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Geena Davis has become the latest addition to Fox’s small screen adaptation of The Exorcist, joining a cast that includes Brianne Howey (Scream Queens), Ben Daniels (House of Cards) and Alfonso Herrera (Sense8).

Deadline reports that Davis will play Angela Rance, who is described as follows: “Naturally beautiful, regal and proud but weighed down by stress, Angela does everything she can to stay positive and keep her faith even though her family is currently struggling. She can’t help but think, however, if perhaps her nightmares about a demon are a sign of what’s wrong.”

The Exorcist is a “modern reimagning” of William Peter Blatty’s 1971 novel and has been written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Project, Fantastic Four), with Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) set to direct.
