Rumour: Cyborg could appear in DC’s The Flash movie

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice gave us a brief look at Ezra Miller’s The Flash, who will be getting his own standalone film in 2018, but according to DC movie producer Deborah Snyder, it sounds like another Justice League superhero will appear in the character’s solo movie as well.

In an interview with Forbes, while speaking about the future of the DC Extended Universe, Snyder said, “David Ayer’s Suicide Squad has such an amazing, brash tone. It’s fun and it’s about the villains, and it’s super-different than Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, which is an origin story and tells her story. As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher — who plays Cyborg — are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them.”

Snyder’s comments, while far from a confirmation, seem to suggest that Fisher’s Cyborg will share the screen with Miller’s Barry Allen in The Flash. Of course, the two characters are set to appear in both announced Justice League films together, but if Dawn of Justice got across one thing to the audience, it’s that next year’s DC superhero team-up film will undoubtedly be busy and stuffed to the brim with already introduced and new characters. For this reason, seeing the two together in something that is less crowded, where there’s room for them both to develop a relationship and rapport, not unlike Captain America and Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, sounds like a great idea.

The Flash will hit theaters on March 16, 2018, and the Cyborg solo movie is set for an April 3, 2020 release.
