Fans of Garth Ennis’ acclaimed comic series Preacher look finally set to see the epic tale played out on the screen, with AMC currently developing an adaptation courtesy of This Is the End screenwriters Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, and during an interview with SlashFilm for his latest film Bad Neighbours [read our review here], Rogen has provided a brief update on its status:
“Me and Evan are writing it write now with the help of Sam Catlin [Breaking Bad] and we’ve come up with a lot of incredibly crazy ideas. [Laughs] It’s a fun thing to riff on and talk about. We’re definitely trying to expand on some of the ideas in the comic and make it that… we love most of the main cornerstones of the comic but we’re trying to make it that even if you’ve read the comic you should not know exactly what to expect from the TV show.”
So, how do you feel about some potential changes to the source material? Is it a good thing, or should they stick as closely as possible to the comics?
