Warner Bros.’ DC plans for Comic-Con revealed?

June 12, 2014 by Gary Collinson

It’s taken Warner Bros. a while to decide what to do with its various DC Comics properties, but with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in production and Justice League on the horizon, it seems the studio is finally set to launch a challenge to Marvel and its dominance of the comic book movie market.

According to former Deadline Editor-in-Chief Nikki Finke, Warner Bros. will officially announce its slate through to 2018 at the San Diego Comic-Con next month. However, we might not have to wait that long, with Finke claiming to have uncovered the line-up, which consists of…

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (May 2016)
Shazam (July 2016)
Sandman (Christmas 2016)
Justice League (May 2017)
Wonder Woman (July 2017)
The Flash / Green Lantern team-up (Christmas 2017)
Man of Steel 2 (May 2018)

Finke then went on to offer some insight into the reason for Warner Bros. pushing Batman v Superman back from its initial 2015 release date, stating that: “There will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months.”

So, if that is the line-up, what do you make of it, and who would you like to see cast as Shazam, Green Lantern, The Flash and Aquaman?
