THR is reporting that Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Jeremy Allen White (Shameless) have signed on to star in Shotgun, the directorial debut of writer-directors Hannah Marks and Joey Power.
Described as a “unique romance blending heartfelt drama with offbeat comedy”, the project tells the story of Elliot (White and Mia (Monroe), who develop a fast relationship after one of them is diagnosed with a life-changing illness.
“Maika and Jeremy could not be more perfectly suited to bring the complex and challenging characters of Mia and Elliot to life,” said Marks, with Power adding: “We are big fans of their work and are incredibly grateful and excited to have them on board.”
Monroe has been busy of late; she will next be seen alongside Jennifer Garner in The Tribes of Palos Verdes, and also has I’m Not Here, Tau and Felt all in the can.
