Morena Baccarin wants to see Vanessa become Copycat in Deadpool 2

April 1, 2017 by Gary Collinson

We already know that Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson),  Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus) and Karan Soni (Dopinder) are returning for Deadpool 2, and now Morena Baccarin has confirmed to CinemaBlend that she’ll be reprising the role of Vanessa in the hotly-anticipated sequel, and hopes to see her manifesting her own mutant abilities.

““I would love to see the evolution of [Copycat], and how she becomes that. I also think it’s very interesting to see the relationship with her and Wade after the whole thing. His whole demeanor changing. And just how they continue their relationship. Obviously everyone wants to see Copycat. I have no idea if that’s something they have in the works or not.”

If you’re unfamiliar with Copycat from the Marvel comic book continuity, she is a mutant with shape-shifting abilities, who is able to replicate others down to a cellular level, even replicating their superpowers. She has served as a mercenary, as well as member of X-Force (albeit in disguise as Domino, having initially been hired to kill Cable). And with an X-Force movie set to follow Deadpool 2, perhaps we’ll see Baccarin getting her wish…
