Prison Break made its long awaited return this week on Fox, and its numbers were pretty solid.
With the way in which Prison Break wrapped up its initial run back in 2009, not much was expected when its return was announced.
Away from the claustrophobic confines of season one’s prison, the show became rather unwieldy. While the series remained popular, it’s safe to say most agreed it was time for the show to depart.
Well, it turns out Prison Break is back. Kind of. Delivering a decent effort with its nostalgia ridden come back episode, which saw Lincoln discover that his brother Michael isn’t dead after all – just locked up in a rather nasty looking prison abroad.
The episode showed well with viewers, scoring 1.5 in the 18-49 demo, and bringing in 3.8 million viewers. Read our review of the episode here.

These numbers meant it beat out the season six finale of New Girl (2 million) and a new episode of The Mick (2.1 million).
This was probably as much as the show could have hoped for, considering its history. It will now look to solidify these numbers throughout the rest of its nine episode fifth season.
