As we await the first trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the folks at Making Star Wars have been dropping a few details on what we can expect from December’s hotly-anticipated Episode VIII, including details on Kylo Ren’s updated costume, Supreme Leader Snoke’s appearance, Benicio Del Toro’s mystery character, and a battle between the Resistance and the First Order.
Now, in the site’s latest report, they have some rumoured information on the character portrayed by Laura Dern, who is reportedly called Admiral Holdo, and is described as wearing “a long mauve regal gown with a short cape that hangs down in back with a concealed laser pistol. She has metallic braces around her wrists. Her pink hair is curled with a flapper vibe to it but it’s not incredibly short or anything. She’s kind of the antithesis of Leia’s new general look of a brown dress with her old A New Hope blaster pistol. Admiral Holdo looks very much like a design from the prequel era of Star Wars.”
Dern’s character will apparently be the “nemesis” to Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron, who is now leading the Resistance fleet as they attempt to evade the First Order. The report goes on to state that Holdo is in charge of some formidable Resistance ships, which will at some point find themselves doing battle with Supreme Leader Snoke’s capital ‘Mega Star Destroyer’.
As always, these are just rumours for the time being, but Making Star Wars does have an impressive track record, so there’s a good chance the report is accurate.
