Veteran actor Kevin Costner is to star in the Paramount Network TV series Yellowstone.
Yellowstone will tell the story of a family owned ranch in the United States that borders the famed Yellowstone National Park.
The first season of Yellowstone is being lined up for 10 episodes and will go into production this autumn for a summer, 2018 premiere.
Kevin Costner will be starring as the head of the ranch’s family, John Dutton. And Tyler Sheridan (Hell or High Water) will be writing and directing the show.
President of development and production at Paramount Network, Keith Cox, has spoken about the series.
“Our goal is to bring premium cinematic storytelling to television. With an icon such as Kevin Costner in front of the camera, and the renowned Taylor Sheridan behind the camera, we are off to a great start.
“We are thrilled to have such a celebrated actor as Costner to play the lead role in such an important project for Paramount Network.”
Paramount Network is to become the new name for Spike when it undergoes rebranding in January 2018. Yellowstone is the first series to be greenlit under the new banner.
