A few days ago it was announced that Doug Liman has vacated the director’s chair on Warner Bros.’ planned Justice League Dark movie owing to a scheduling conflict with his new film Chaos Warning.
The initial report claimed that It helmer Andres Muschietti was in contention to replace Liman (who was himself a replacement for Guillermo del Toro), and now we have another rumoured possibility courtesy of Jeff Sneider, who has claimed on Meet the Movie Press that Argentinian director Damian Szifron is also under consideration.
Szifron is best known for directing 2014’s Wild Tales, which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars, and is the most successful Argentinian film of all time. He is also attached to direct Universal’s big screen remake of The Six Billion Dollar Man, should it ever see the light of day.
Justice League Dark will deal with the supernatural side of the DC Extended Universe, with John Constantine leading a team that includes Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna and Etrigan the Demon.
