Deadline is reporting that the Fruitvale Station, Creed and Black Panther duo of director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Jordan are set to reunite for Wrong Answer, which will tell the true story of a 2013 Atlanta high school test cheating scandal. The project was first mooted by the pair back in November 2015 whilst promoting the release of Creed.
The film, which is being scripted by Ta-Nehisi Coates from a 2014 New Yorker article by Rachel Aviv, will see Jordan as Damany Lewis, a math teacher who became embroiled in an effort to cheat students’ test scores in order to try and prevent their school from being shuttered. Eventually, eleven educators were convicted of racketeering.
Coogler and Jordan’s next film Black Panther is set for release this coming February, and you can watch the first trailer here. Jordan meanwhile will soon begin production on Fahrenheit 451, along with the Destin Daniel Cretton-directed Just Mercy.
