The next actor to play the Doctor will be announced on Sunday after the Wimbledon Men’s Final on BBC One. The Wimbledon Men’s Final will end at 6:30pm.
It has been nearly six months since Peter Capaldi announced he would be stepping down as the Doctor on the 30th January – nearly the longest duration between a Doctor announcing his departure and his successor being revealed.
Ever since Capaldi announced his departure, speculation has been rife as to who the Thirteenth Doctor would be. Favourites Kris Marshall and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have both denied rumours they would be taking the TARDIS keys.
Peter Capaldi is set to regenerate in the 2017 Christmas special; the special will be a multi-Doctor special featuring the First Doctor, as played by David Bradley.
