Marvel may have found a new director for Ant-Man in Peyton Reed (Down with Love), but it seems the fallout from Edgar Wright’s exit has now led to the departure of three cast members, with Deadline revealing that Patrick Wilson (Watchmen), Matt Gerald (Dexter) and Kevin Weisman (Hello Ladies) have all left the film.
According to the site, Marvel executives “adamantly dispute” that any of the departures are due to creative issues, with Wilson said to have encountered a scheduling conflict due to the delay in production, and Gerald and Weisman’s characters having been written out of the lastest draft of the script.
Ant-Man is set to feature as part of Marvel’s big Hall H presentation at Comic-Con tomorrow night, with Peyton Reed, Paul Rudd (Scott Lang) and Michael Douglas (Hank Pym) featuring on the panel and Evangeline Lilly also tipped to appear.
