Indie developer Anshar Studios have announced that the latest update for their space exploration VR game Detached is now available and introduces the new Race Mode. As well as this new mode there will also be the introduction of community rankings, a new difficulty level and an improved private lobby. A new video has been released as a tutorial for this new mode and can be watched below…
This brand new update will give players the opportunity to race through a destroyed spacecraft and beat your opponent. Your skills and timing have to be spot on as you whiz through debris to get to the next ring and the slightest error will cost you time and perhaps even your life. The new Race Mode is accessible to everyone but is ideally suited for those players who have mastered controlling their advanced EVA suit.
As well as the new mode there will also be leaderboards available for the best players to show off their scores in all game modes and an improved Private Lobby that makes creating and joining a game no longer a faff.
Finally, a new, harder difficulty mode has been included called Simulation Mode. This mode provides realistic space conditions and requires players carefully use the thrusters to correct their flight path.
The new update for Detached features:
- New multiplayer Race mode
- New Leaderboards game feature
- New private multiplayer game lobby with gameplay customization
- New Simulation difficulty level
- New video tutorials for the available multiplayer modes
- Minor bug fixes
This latest update can be downloaded from Steam or the Oculus Store.
