Over the past couple of weeks, Ron Howard has announced that both Donald Glover and Paul Bettany have wrapped shooting on the as-yet-untitled Han Solo Star Wars spinoff, and now the director has taken to social media once again to announce that Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has also completed work on next year’s Anthology movie…

Details on Clarke’s role in the film are being kept well under wraps by Lucasfilm, but it has been rumoured that the actress is playing a character called Kira (a name which will be familiar to those who kept tabs on Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it was in production), and that she will have a substantial part in the film.

Han Solo stars Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) as the famous smuggler, Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Beckett (Solo’s mentor), Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Thandie Newton (Westworld), Paul Bettany (Avengers: Infinity War), Ian Kenny (Sing Street), and Warwick Davis (Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 25th 2018.
