Liam Neeson is un-retiring from action films and will continue appearing in them for the rest of his career.
We reported earlier this month that the ageing action star was ready to hang things up when it came to action movies, with Neeson statiing at the Toronto Film Festival:
“They’re still throwing serious money at me to do that stuff. I’m like: ‘Guy’s I’m sixty-fucking-five.’ Audiences are eventually going to go: ‘Come on.’”
But it turns out his high-octane demise was greatly exaggerated as the actor reveals he actually won’t be calling it quits in this particular genre. Answering a question about his retirement at the premiere of Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House (reported by Variety), Neeson said:
“It’s not true, look at me! You’re talking in the past tense. I’m going to be doing action movies until they bury me in the ground. I’m unretired.”
Phew. Well, that’s relief. It looks like movie fans will be able to enjoy Neeson kicking ass on screen for many years to come.
