Actor Ike Barinholtz (Bad Neighbours, Suicide Squad) is set to make his feature directorial debut on The Oath, a satirical thriller which he’ll also star, as well as writing and producing.
Variety reports that the film “is set in a near-future America in which citizens are required to take a loyalty oath and follows a man trying to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without destroying his family.”
The Oath is being produced by QC Entertainment (Get Out, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), with Barinholtz, Sean McKittrick, Ray Mansfield, Edward H. Hamm, Jr., Andrew Robinson, and David Stassen serving as producers.
Barinholtz can currently be seen in the sixth and final season of The Mindy Project, while his upcoming feature slate includes David Ayer’s action fantasy Bright, the political drama Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House, and the comedy The Pact.
