Amazon has just acquired a new series to its ever growing lineup of original shows. Titled Fearless, the six-episode series stars Helen McCrory and Sir Michael Gambon with all the episodes directed by Pete Travis. The series sees McCrory as a human rights lawyer who uncovers a conspiracy that will affect the nation and herself personally.
Fearless was created by Rebecca Keane and written by Homeland‘s Patrick Harbinson, who will also executive produce. It will be produced by Mammoth Screen for ITV with Weinstein Television. It premiered on ITV in the UK earlier this summer, but will premiere on Amazon Friday, October 27.
“We are excited to add this riveting drama to Prime Video,” said Brad Beale, Vice President, Worldwide TV Content Acquisition. “Patrick Harbinson is brilliant at telling gripping stories, and the compelling performances by the cast will keep viewers at the edge of their seats.”
Also starring in the series are Wunmi Mosaku (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Jonathan Forbes (Catastrophe), John Bishop (Accused), Rebecca Callard (Ordinary Lies), Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Sam Swainsbury (Mum), Emma Hamilton (Mr. Selfridge) and Robin Weigert (American Horror Story).
Emma (Helen McCrory) sets out to prove the innocence of Kevin Russell (Sam Swainsbury), a man who she feels was wrongly convicted for the murder of schoolgirl Linda Simms (Eve Austin) 14 years earlier. Emma is determined to reveal the truth behind Linda’s death and is prepared to go to extreme lengths to prove Kevin’s innocence. However, as she digs deeper into the case–risking her career, personal life and reputation–she begins to sense powerful forces in the police and the intelligence services who want to stop her from uncovering the truth.
