Feline getting your claws into a cat-based RPG? The Chronicles of Nyanya is a C-RPG which hearkens back to classic JRPG style gameplay with turn-based combat, think early Final Fantasy, and Pokémon style top-down maps. The kitten protagonist learns that life isn’t all about bun growing as she seeks a path of vengeance after her village, and the buns, are burnt to a crisp. Following a bout of PTSD, she becomes the catssassin Catair to save the land of Nyanya and learn about revenge: ‘I want to inflict pain because the trauma caused by the fire in my home village left a lasting mark on my psyche, making me unable to love – therefore I use all my energy for evil and destruction, which only emphasises the void in my wounded soul. My delicate body trembles, I am a dark avenger of hatred.’
Full of twisted humour, puns, and pop-culture references abound; featuring Metal Gear Solid exclamations and the Assassin’s Creed-esque protagonist, The Chronicles of Nyanya is quite the eye-catcher.

The Chronicles of Nyanya tells the story of a seemingly ordinary cat who, due to numerous tragic events, becomes a catssassin and goes on her mission to save the world of Nyanya. Apart from regular RPG mechanics, the game also offers numerous non-linear quests based on the reputation of the main character and allows various ways of completing them: brutal fights, talking, sneaking or solving puzzles.
The game is also co-authored by Ilona Myszkowska, a critically acclaimed Polish comic artist and creator of the very popular website, chatolandia.pl.
