Several MCU cameos rumoured for Marvel’s Ant-Man

August 14, 2014 by Gary Collinson

If reports are to be believed, one of the “creative differences” between Marvel and Edgar Wright on Ant-Man was said to be the studio’s desire to further integrate the film into the Marvel Cinematic Universe by incorporating a few familiar faces from the MCU into his script, and according to Latino-Review, they have the inside track on which characters this concerned.

According to the site, an early draft of the script included a prologue that saw Hank Pym meeting with S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Howard Stark, Peggy Carter and Arnim Zola, in addition to a young Alexander Pierce. Presumably this would allow Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell and Toby Jones to reprise their roles, with younger actors stepping in for Michael Douglas and Robert Redford.

As always, mark this one as a rumour, but if true how would you feel about those characters making an appearance in Ant-Man?

Ant-Man is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17th, 2015, with Peyton Reed (Down with Love) directing a cast that includes Paul Rudd (Anchorman) as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas (Wall Street) as Hank Pym, Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as Darren Cross / Yellowjacket, Evangeline Lilly (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug) as Hope Van Dyne with David Dastmalchian (The Dark Knight) and Michael Pena (Cowboys & Aliens) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
