Badass Digest have reported that some ‘excellent sources’ have confirmed that new writers for Star Trek 3 have been found, and as expected Bad Robot is hiring from within the ranks of past collaborators.
Continuing with the first two films’ tradition of having writing teams, the script for Trek 3 will be written by duo Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz. These chaps wrote the first Thor film, and also have a writing credit on X-Men: First Class. Doesn’t sound too bad does it?
Don’t get too far ahead of yourselves though as Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are still on board as writers and were instrumental in making the decision about going after the new pair.
Of course, nothing is confirmed, so it could all change. But as the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek is due in 2016, we should expect work to start soon.
Then we just need to find out who is directing. Can J.J. Abrams run both Star franchises?
