During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, filmmaker Ridley Scott has spoken briefly about the proposed sequels to his sci-fi offerings Blade Runner and Prometheus, stating that Blade Runner 2 looks set to move forward, while Prometheus 2 seems to be suffering from scheduling issues.
With regards to Blade Runner 2, Scott stated that: “Blade Runner 2 is written and is damn good,” says Scott. “Of course it involves Harrison [Ford], who is a survivor after all these years – despite the accident [on the set of Star Wars: Episode VII]. So yes, that will happen.”
Scott is currently putting the finishing touches to Exodus: Gods and Kings and is gearing up to shoot The Martian with Matt Damon, which means he’s struggling to find time to fit Prometheus 2 into his schedule: “That’s the problem. I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row. But they’re all written.”
So, if Scott plans to direct Blade Runner 2 after The Martian, how would you feel about him handing directing duties on to someone else for Prometheus 2, and if so, who would you like to see taking on the job?
