JOL Studios have announced that a playable demo, a new update and a brand new trailer is now available for their modern day text adventure, Just One Line. Released back in July on Steam Early Access, Just One Line promises fantasy questing and text-based, choose your own adventure style roleplaying set in a 3D world and is a title that those of you of a certain age may find reminiscent of the good old days of text adventures.
The game’s major new update, titled ‘The Prohibitionist Update’, changes the focus of the gameplay from drinking liquor to upgrading gear. It also improves quest features and adds new stats and prices to the armoury as well as plenty of tweaks and fixes for those niggling little bugs.
The new playable demo now available allows players to dip their toe into the world of text adventuring and create their own adventurer and tackle three of the quests from the game. The full game will include dozens of quests, each with multiple paths and all with permanent consequences.
“Players have been responding really well to the Early Access version of Just One Line, so we’re pleased to be releasing a demo today to share our vision with more people…….Just One Line is an unusual and ambitious game – part-classic text adventure, part-roleplaying game, and soon to be a colourful user-generated content platform. So we hope this demo will allow people to try the game and see if it’s something they’d like to be involved in from the ground up.” said programmer Mirco Pazzaglia.
