After scoring the third lowest season premiere in the show’s history last month with its 100th episode, The Walking Dead has now fallen to its lowest ratings in six years with its latest episode on season eight.
Sunday’s ‘The Big Scary U’ pulled in a 3.4 rating among the key 18-49 demo and 7.84 million viewers in total – the lowest since the penultimate episode of season two back in November 2011, which drew a 3.1 and 6.89 million viewers.
Here’s the ratings so far this season:
8.1 ‘Mercy’ – 11.44 million
8.2 ‘The Damned’ – 8.92 million
8.3 ‘Monsters’” – 8.52 million
8.4 ‘Some Guy’ – 8.69 million
8.5 ‘The Big Scary U’ – 7.84 million
While those are still big numbers for any TV show, AMC must surely be starting to get a little concerned, particularly as the network hopes the franchise has decades of life left in it.
