We’re still waiting on word as to who will be playing Ra’s al Ghul in the upcoming third season of Arrow, but in the meantime The CW has announced that another villain has joined the roster with former Supernatural actress Amy Gumenick signing on to play Carrie Cutter, a.k.a. Cupid, who EW describes as “a lethal villainness with a dangerously obsessive crush on The Arrow.”
“I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan,” states Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “When I was writing the comic book, my big goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC Nation shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight our TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”
The news comes hot on the heels of the report that Glee star Nolan Funk is set to play Felicity Smoak’s former boyfriend Cooper Seldon, while other new additions to the cast of the show include Rila Fukushima as Katana, J.R. Ramirez as Wildcast, David Cubitt as Manhunter, Charlotte Ross as Felicity’s mother, Matt Ward as Komodo, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Karl Yune as Maseo Yamashiro and Peter Stormare as Count Vertigo.
Arrow season 3 begins on The CW on October 8th, with Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen), David Ramsey (John Diggle), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak), Willa Holland (Thea Queen), Colton Haynes (Roy Harper), John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn), Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance) and Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance) all returning to the cast.
