Following Jack Bauer’s successful return to TV screens earlier this year with 24: Live Another Day, it seems that Brian Grazer and Imagine Entertainment are now looking to revive their plans for a 24 movie.
TV Line is reporting that a new feature idea for a 24 movie “is kicking around”, which Grazer is particularly keen on, although the pitch is yet to be taken to Fox. However, it’s said that Fox may prefer another miniseries, given the comments from Fox chairman and CEO Peter Rice back in July, when he suggested that the show could be renewed for what would be a tenth season.
A 24 movie has long been on the cards, with series co-creators Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran and showrunner Howard Gordon initially planning a feature film between the sixth and seventh season of the show. It was then decided to hold off until the conclusion of the eighth season, although Fox pulled the plug on the production in 2012 due to concerns over the budget and Keifer Sutherland’s schedule, before finally scrappingt he idea in 2013 following the announcement of Live Another Day.
Would you like to see 24 finally making the jump to the big screen or returning for another series, or is it time to retire Jack Bauer?
