The sixth and final season of House of Cards will resume shooting in early 2018.
After the highly publicised fall from grace of Kevin Spacey, stemming from myriad sexual assault charges and molestation claims, House of Cards has made the decision to resume production on its final season.
Spacey, however, won’t be returning to the Netflix political series, instead House of Cards will return with an eighth episode final season starring Robin Wright.
These changes and the production re-launch – initially suspended after the Spacey scandal broke – were announced by Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos on Monday.
“We are excited to bring closure to fans,” he said, also giving assurance to the production crew whose jobs have been rather uncertain since Spacey was first accused of sexual assault.
Netflix has cut all ties with Spacey, beyond that of writing him out of House of Cards, cancelling the biopic of Gore Vidal that the actor was supposed to star in.
