Lionsgate has announced that the Now You See Me sequel is set for a June 10th, 2016 release. As well as a release date they announced that cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine will all be reprising their roles. John M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) has also been confirmed as the director, replacing original director Louis Leterrier.
Now You See Me was released in the summer of 2013 and made over $350 million at the global box office. With a successful intake at the box office and a great cast there is no surprise that the film has earned a sequel. Now You See Me 2 has a lot of competition for the summer of 2016 though, as well as sharing a release date with Sony’s upcoming adaptation of the video game Uncharted.
