Sony Pictures is set to reboot the teen slasher series I Know What You Did Last Summer, with the studio tapping Oculus co-writer / director Mike Flanagan and partner Jeff Howard to pen the script for producer Neal Moritz (Fast & Furious).
Released in 1997 off the back of the success of Scream and the revival of the slasher genre, I Know What You Did Last Summer starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr.
The film grossed $125 million off a $17 million budget, and spawned the 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, as well as the 2006 straight-to-DVD follow-up I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.
