Having secured a lead last month in Vin Diesel, it seems that Sony is gearing up to begin production on its Valiant Entertainment comic book adaptation Bloodshot this May, according to Omega Underground.
Created by Kevin Van Hook, Don Perlin and Bob Layton in 1992, Bloodshot tells the story of Raymond Garrison, a mortally wounded soldier who’s resurrected using nanotechnology and given the task of hunting down superpowered outcasts known as harbingers.
The Bloodshot movie is set to be directed by Dave Wilson, partner of Deadpool helmer Tim Miller in Blur Studios, with Eric Heisserer (Arrival) having penned the script. It is planned as the first instalment of a Valiant cinematic universe, which will be followed by a Harbinger movie, building to Harbinger Wars.
Vin Diesel is coming off a stellar 2017, which saw him named as the year’s highest grossing actor thanks to Fast & Furious 7 and xXx: Return of Xander Cage. He also lent his voice to Groot in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Bloodshot is slated for release at some point in 2019.
